Jordan came to pastor Central Baptist in August of 2016. He is a Pine Bluff native, and graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 2000. He attended college at Henderson State University where he met his wife; Amanda; and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in 2005. Jordan’s early ministry years were spent in youth ministry where he served in churches in Malvern, Woodlawn, and Sherwood, AR. Jordan felt God call him onto seminary, so he enrolled in Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and started on his Master’s degree. He graduated in 2010 with his Masters of Arts in Religious Studies with an emphasis in Bible Study. He then graduated the following year with his Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries.
It was during this time that Jordan felt God calling him to military chaplaincy. He was commissioned in July of 2010 as an Ensign in the United States Navy Chaplain Candidate Program. After completion of ODS and Chaplain School he was advanced to the rank of LTjg, and assigned to a Navy Seabee Battalion as their command chaplain.
Soon after, Jordan was promoted to LT, and found received orders to deploy to Afghanistan in 2013. It was during this time that his wife and him found out that they were expecting their first child; Daniel. They welcomed Daniel that summer, and Jordan then deployed for 8 months.
When he returned he took a job teaching at Ridgway Christian High School teaching Bible as well as computer science to grades 7th-12th. While there he led worship in the chapel services as well as started speaking in churches throughout the southeast area of Arkansas as well as speaking at various events at prisons, veterans events, and etc.
In 2016 Jordan accepted the call to Central Baptist in White Hall as Senior Pastor. He still serves as a Navy Reserve Chaplain as a Lieutenant Commander. He spends his time outside the church with his beautiful family. He is an avid runner and athlete. He loves to hunt, fish, and cycle. He also loves to sing, and play the guitar.
Chuck Sloan has been at Central for over 10 years as a member of the congregation. When asked, Chuck assumed the role of interim Worship leader, and has performed admirably. He has a heart for Christ, and it shows in his tireless dedication to lifting up the name of Jesus in our worship services.
